98 ZeitHaus comprises two basic elements which embody the opposites of ana- logue and digital. A high glass rack houses a collection of automobiles like miniatures in a compartment. It embodies the chronological, rational, i.e. the digital memory the souvenir. The rounded bow-shaped body of the ZeitHaus roofs the setting of the automobile in its social and cultural context as if on a trip down memory lane. It thus represents the associative, emotional analogue memory the orientation. As angular and transparent the rack is, as cubic, window-less and secretive the body presents itself. Between the two building elements bridges and staircases create the link between the right and left side of the brain like nerves.
